We ran out of milk. No surprises. Between my husband and my daughter they drink about 2 gallons of milk a week. That is alot of milk. Its the cereal. They cannot get enough cereal. Olivia asks for it every meal. As everyone has noticed, the price has gone up tremendously in the last couple of months. $6.00 for a gallon? I know regular milk isn't that much, but I dont usually buy any groceries if theyre not USDA certified organic. Yeah, I am one of those people. Yes, it costs more. Is it worth it? YEAH!! All the stuff they put in our food that we dont need. It is making America fat. Girls are going through puberty years earlier. Well, I have decided times are different right now since the economy is in a recess. Plus, I recently quit my job to stay home. Money isnt an abundance in this household.....so I found this store that is local in Roebuck called Aldi. Milk is $1.99 a gallon. Is it certified organic? No. Does it have antibiotics and a bunch of other additives in it? Probably. But its cheap. I guess as long as I dont compromise in every aspect of my shopping, I should be fine. I will be trying to cut them back on their milk intake.
I keep feeling the need to become self-sufficient. My own farm to feed my family completely organics at a wholesale price. Who can picture me farming? ---Guess I will be just feeling that need for a while. : )

I feel your pain!!! I would LOVE to only buy organic and I know how important it really is. Unfortunately, that's just not an option for my family. I decided last winter that I would have an organic garden this year to grow fruits and veggies, but never did it. HOPEFULLY, we can do that next year. :) We just picked a few things that are at the top of the list when it comes to the amount of pesticides and get those organic. We do buy organic milk, apples, and strawberries (when they're on sale). I guess that's about it. Maybe we should move onto some land and start an organic farm together!!!
